Okay so you’re thinking a ham and cheese sandwich isn’t all that exciting, and quite frankly I tend to agree but this is so much more than sweaty pink rubber topped with powdery grated “cheddar” you get from so many deli counters. Firstly, the ham is smoked and freshly carved, topped with a thick slice of beef tomato, bleu d’auvergne cheese, lemon stuffed olives and mixed baby greens. See, this sandwich is its own thing entirely.
It’s also served on a buttery unsweetened brioche burger bun (I had one left over which seemed a shame not to use), slathered in heinz mayo and a dab of grainy grey poupon mustard. It’s a deliciously cheesy, creamy sandwich but doesn’t taste to heavy thanks to the light bread.
The only possible improvement could be the addition of avocado, but then again I say that about every sandwich.
